We worked with an American multinational medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents. It employs nearly 70,000 people in more than 50 countries throughout the world and provides consulting and analytics services in certain geographies.
In March 2020, the company faced the challenge -like many other companies- of a remote working scheme and, therefore, rolled out new programs to support remote corporate training. Along with Definity First, Microsoft solutions were implemented to integrate people, content, and tools for this purpose.
The Virtual Training Application became a powerful solution that was developed mainly by the following Microsoft integrations:
Since time to market was the main challenge for this project, Definity First worked during the first week on the design of the tool for one specific course/training. The enhancements of each added feature were executed during the second week of the project.
After developing the first version of the solution, BD internal teams and employees started their virtual training courses. Around 60 users were able to start their training from home during the next four weeks.
During the first weeks, 95% of the users were able to complete each training.
The solution included the creation of SQUADS, a feature in which each team can provide feedback and specific knowledge. This feature encourages each member to continue their virtual training. The Virtual Training Application is being used with other groups of participants to ensure they know how to accomplish each of their tasks.
A tool that integrates all the O365 suite elements (Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Teams, PowerApps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online) was added. This tool was meant to provide a solution for each online training.
With Microsoft solutions, Definity First helped quickly streamline training operations, adapting processes with powerful tools like Microsoft Forms to create quizzes to evaluate the progress and knowledge of the team members.
The dashboard to access programmed training was developed on PowerApps to be successfully showcased on the Microsoft Teams platform and available for all users.
